Home / Annual Campaign

FOR ALL.

At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. For 157 years, we've worked side-by-side with our neighbors to empower young people, improve health and well-being, and inspire action in Greater Des Moines. Many people know us through our fitness facilities, our pools, our exercise and youth sports programs. But the Y is so much more:

  • It’s the security of having a place to call home and a chance at a fresh start at the YMCA Supportive Housing Campus.

  • It’s what you bring home from a week at Y Camp– the friendship bracelet, muddy shoes, and lifelong memories.

  • It’s the joy in a girl’s smile and the confidence unleashed through accomplishment as she crosses the finish line at a Girls on the Run Celebratory 5k.

  • It’s a father reconnecting with his children and learning to be a positive role model in their lives through our Fatherhood Program.

  • It's the feeling of knowing your children are safely cared for as they explore, learn, and grow in the Y's Before and After School Child Care.

All of these things, are more, and made possible when you give to the Y!

The Annual Campaign

The Y's Annual Campaign is a community-based fundraising effort to provide access to Y programs and services for those who need them most. Our fundraising goal will benefit more than 18,000 individuals and ensure no one is turned away based on their ability to pay for services.

What Your Gift Can Do

When you give to the Y, you open up opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and income levels. You change lives.

  • $30 supports a child in youth sports with a team jersey and a sense of belonging.
  • $100 can save a life by providing swim lessons and water safety education.
  • $175 unlocks the power and potential of a girl through a season of Girls on the Run.
  • $250 per month supports affordable housing in our community by providing rental assistance to a Y-SHC resident.
  • $750 sponsors a week at Y Camp and memories for a lifetime for one child.

Every dollar of every gift stays right here in our community, ensuring that we all have access to the resources, relationships, and opportunities we need to learn, grow, and thrive.
