Fatherhood is about loving, coaching and modeling. Through our Fatherhood Program, we impact the lives of hundreds of children by helping men better understand their role and responsibilities as fathers and gain the skills to become more active and engaged parents.
Every year we serve 150-200 men through an eight-week class that addresses a wide range of topics pertinent to fathers:
- Life skills
- Dealing with stress
- Communication and active listening
- Coping with discrimination
- Navigating the child support system
- and more
Group discussions, coaching and mentoring are important elements of each class session. Successful completion of the program may result in a reduction in fiscal child support obligations for those who qualify.
The eight-week curriculum is offered free of charge on a rolling basis, allowing men to join the program at any time.
