Have you had a chance to see the new lighting in the Walnut Creek YMCA? Here's how it happened:
Randy Forburger joined the Walnut Creek YMCA last year and, like many others, found a hobby in playing pickleball. When he saw a need for improved lighting above the courts, he set out to do something about it. This year, Randy and a group of project partners came together to install brand-new lighting in the Y's gymnasium!
In order to show our sincere appreciation, we gathered today underneath the new lights to formally thank those involved in making this project a reality: Mike Stanley with Logistical Lighting, Tom Mass with The Waldinger Corporation, and Ray Houser with Central States Scaffolding, alongside support from many of the Walnut Creek pickleball players including Barb Stetzel, Harold and Denise Peterson, Bill Dawes, Dave Hansen, Bruce Heston, Deborah Fisch, and Randy and Bonnie Forburger.
Thanks to the hard work and support of these individuals, many more members will benefit from the new lighting while walking the track, playing basketball, or taking a group fitness class. Here at the YMCA, great things happen when our Y community comes together for a cause!
